Dear Neighbor,

Thank you so much for electing me twice to represent Ward One on the Northampton City Council. It has been an honor and privilege to serve you. I offer once again my experience and my record of committed service to addressing Northampton's issues, and to representing the residents of Ward One.

I made Northampton my home nearly thirty years ago because I love the natural beauty, cultural richness, and welcoming community. Originally from Dorchester, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree and two Masters degrees from the University of Massachusetts, and am a graduate of the IBEW electrical apprenticeship program. A former Smith Vocational teacher, I now help businesses and workers to retain jobs in Massachusetts, and to access retraining opportunities in the face of layoffs and plant closings.

I feel so fortunate to live here, and want to give back to this community for the many opportunities I have received. Presently, I Chair the City Council Committee on Public Safety, serve on five Council subcommittes and the Franklin-Hampshire Regional Employment Board. It is an honor and a privilege to play an active role in sustaining this wonderful city by serving on the City Council.

Please check out my reasons for running, and my qualifications to serve. PLEASE VOTE on November 3rd. I need your vote, and your support.

Sincerely,

Maureen
